Be Kind - A District Kindness Initiative

Through all of April, we will be practicing KINDNESS.
Lower Dauphin Communities That Care (LD CTC) and the LD Connections Club believe in a “be kind” attitude and have launched their first Kindness Initiative. We are in the final weeks of this initiative, focusing on children of all ages in our community to simply be intentionally kind to one another by offering up a smile, giving a high five, befriending someone new, or in any way you like!
Remember to wear your BE KIND shirt on Friday. BE KIND yard signs will also be availble for purchase each Friday at Parent Pick-Up. Yard signs are $5.00 each. Checks should be made out to "Lower Dauphin Communities That Care."

Classroom Guest Readers Still Needed |

|
As part of the Lower Dauphin Be Kind initiative, we are looking for volunteers to serve as guest readers each Friday in April. Volunteers would be provided a book about kindness to read to one (or more) of our Kindergarten- 2nd grade classrooms. Approved clearances are required. Sign up here.
Volunteers are welcome to sign up for more than 1 time slot. Please know that you may not be in your student's classroom.

We are so excited for the upcoming Buy One, Get One FREE Book Fair at East Hanover! If your student shops at the fair, they may select one item and receive another item of equal or lesser value FREE!
Details:
This year's spring book fair will be held April 29 - May 3. Your student may shop during their normal scheduled library class. or you may attend Family Shopping Night on Wednesday, May 1 from 4:00 - 5:30 p.m.
Payment:
As with other fairs, you may send in cash or check made payable to East Hanover PTO in an envelope with your child's name. Make sure to include TAX in your calculations. If you are sending in a check, we kindly ask that you include a note with the amount you are allowing your child to spend.
There is also a new digital payment option for students called eWallet! You create an account on our book fair homepage (http://www.scholastic.com/bf/easthanoverld) and load money onto your child's account with a credit or debit card. You will then be prompted to print out a barcode that can be used to access those funds when your child shops. Any unused money gets credited back to your account at the end of the book fair. If you do not have access to a printer, Mrs. Conley, the librarian, can print the eWallet codes each morning.

We are still looking for volunteers for the Book Fair. If you have your clearances on file in the district office and are interested in volunteering at the Book Fair, please sign up here.
